Freelance Multimedia Journalist
I’m a freelance multimedia journalist with eight years of experience and counting. To date, I’ve produced reports on numerous topics including:
-
violent crimes
-
voter fraud and intimidation
-
protests, rallies, and marches
-
business conferences
-
life going into Shelter In Place (SIP) for the pandemic
-
and life emerging from SIP.
I singlehandedly wrote, edited, and produced a video news series of interviews illuminating the complex dimensions of the national fentanyl epidemic. Due to the ongoing crisis and the positive feedback I’ve received for the series so far, I was encouraged to pursue a remake of it into a short documentary. As it stands, the series alone was enough to fulfill the requirements for my Masters of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. Nevertheless, in partnership with a local film studio, Ace Hardware and interview subject of my series, I managed to help create that documentary.
In June 2023, I earned my MA in Broadcast Journalism. First, it was an end I thought I would never pursue. Second, it was a triumph against adversity. I not only applied to graduate school during COVID, I completed three quarters of my academic career via mandatory distance learning.
From all these experiences, I’ve advanced professionally. I've also strengthened my dedication to advocating for marginalized communities, all this while getting to the bottom of a story.
Last but not least, I love people, pets, and places! From Washington D.C. to Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco has been and remains the place I will always call home.
